These issues are common areas addressed in coaching. Other common areas addressed in coaching are: how do I become a better leader? How do I reach my highest potential? What is my next step in life or work? The International Coaching Federation describes coaching as the process of partnering with clients in a thought-provoking, inquiry-based process. You choose the focus of the conversation and set the agenda for each session. The coach works with you as a partner to explore and reveal new perspectives, choices and uncover more freedom for you to move. To get started with coaching, we will meet to determine if we are a good match. A good match between the client and coach is critical to a successful engagement. Next we will develop a coaching contract that clarifies your goals, measures of success and length of the engagement. Most coaching engagements are 4, 6 or 12 months. Options to consider in the contract also include, assessments desired (i.e. 360 leader competencies, personality style, emotional intelligence, strengths), frequency of sessions and stakeholder involvement. All sessions, including assessment results, are confidential. Once the contract is complete, we will look to create an action plan for the desired change. The following sessions are focused on your achievement of the desired change. We will close out the engagement by creating a plan to sustain your progress.
